They call him Tommy ‘The Wolf’ Connelly.
He's devastatingly handsome, with a blazing uppercut to boot.
His occupation? Knocking grown men out cold.
There's no way in hell he could be a good husband, let alone a good dad...right?

When the nerdy Devon Bell hits Vegas for spring break of her senior year at Harvard, she’s ready for some relaxation, sightseeing, and maybe a party or two. After all, she’s earned it. Her daunting degree in computer science didn’t earn itself.

A night on the town with a wild friend lands her ringside at a heavyweight boxing match. Devon can’t keep her eyes off the off the striking underdog fighter. There’s something so familiar about him.

After Tommy Connelly’s blockbuster win, it’s no surprise to find hot girls lining up outside his locker room. But this time, it’s hometown girl Devon Bell, the beautiful but slightly nerdy girl he was in love with back in high school. Devon’s all grown up, and Tommy’s more than happy to pick up where they left off.

There’s only one wrinkle in their plans a touch of “stomach flu” that turns out to be something neither one of them expected.

I finished Bare Knuckle Bride smiling and with tears in my eyes - happy tears! It's a beautiful story, and I know it's gonna be a hit. A girl from a rich Boston family and a boy from a poor one become childhood friends. Real friends, the kind you remember forever. But life (and parents) interfere, and time passes. But one lucky day in Las Vegas the girl goes to a boxing match and, guess what? A miracle happens, and she recognizes one of the boxers. Her friend Tommy is now the winning champion in the very match she's been dragged to, kicking and griping. The characters are so well written, I feel as though they're family - or I should say I wish I had a family like Tommy's! And Devon's Gram is the icing on the cake. In fact, she seems to be the only relative In Devon's family worth keeping! Please don't miss this one. It's the sort you want to go back and read again. I first received this book as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review. I liked it so much that I bought my own copy - and if you knew what a cheapskate I am, you'd appreciate that more! :-)

I received an ARC version in exchange for an honest review.

Devon Bell and her best friend Rachel Murphy are about to go to Vegas for Spring Break from Harvard. Devon has always followed the path in life her parents wanted her to take, always gotten good grades and stayed away from partying. Both Devon's parents are involved in the educational system and expect the same of Devon. Devon comes from a wealthy family and has always done what's expected of her, while her parents looked down their noses at those who weren't wealthy or lived in the "not so proper" areas of town. When Devon was young she met a young boy in the neighborhood and they became best friends but in high school, all that changed. Devon was always studying, while Tommy became the athlete and always had girls following him. They went their separate ways, even though they knew their hearts were connected.

In Vegas, Rachel being the more "bold" of the two and Devon just hoping for relaxing, Rachel takes Devon on a night on the town and they end up at a boxing match, sitting in the 3rd row. Devon has never experienced anything like it and really doesn't want to be there, not until the boxers enter the ring. One boxer catches her eye, she knows he's very good looking, well built but there's just something familiar about him and Devon feels a pull towards him. When the boxer shows his face, Devon knows who the guy is and is quite shocked. The boxer in the ring is none other than her childhood best friend, the first boy she ever kissed, the boy she always loved for so long, the boy she hadn't talked to in over 10 years, that boxer was Tommy Connelly.

After returning home from the boxing match, Devon can't seem to get Tommy out of her mind. She remembers all their good times as young kids and then searches the internet for any information about him since she saw him last in high school. Devon discovers that he will be at a signing the next day and decides to go see Tommy, for old times sake. At the signing, Tommy can't believe that he's found Devon after so many years apart and the two agree to dinner and catch up on old times.

The memories the two share throughout the book leave you knowing these two were meant to be together. Tommy secretly over the years has always loved Devon and Devon always loved Tommy. The two also come to realize what kept them apart was that Devon his from the upper class, and Tommy comes from a lower class and both were convinced by their families that they didn't belong together, so they were kept apart. Now that they've found each other, neither is willing to let go and they explore the past and current passion and likeness between them. The only problem the two encounter once again, is that their families still believe they don't belong together because of their past social status. Can these two have enough love to battle their families who don't believe they belong together? Read this book to find out!!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was a great book. Devon is on her Spring Break in Vegas with her best friend Rachel. Rachel tells her she's moving to Vegas after graduation & wants Devon to come with her. Devon doesn't tell anyone until her graduation party. Her grandmother is happy for her but her parents aren't pleased. They want her to take the job her father got her & marry someone like them. They relent & give her their blessing. Devon gets a job in management at a casino. She & Rachel go to a boxing match & Devon is shocked when she realizes one of the boxers is the man who gave her her first kiss when she was younger. Devon has never forgotten about Tommy & he never forgot about her. They loved each other when they were in high school but they hung in different circles & didn't act on their feelings. Even though they are from different backgrounds Tommy is not letting Devon go this time. They decide they are not going to let any familial objections get in their way. They do have people in their corner cheering for them. Her grandmother Iris, Rachel, Tommy's brother Ryan & his friends all want them to be happy. This is a story about second chances & true love.
New York’s hottest book is Bare Knuckle Bride. Author Gay Dunaway has built a fantasy world that answers the question, “Nooow?” This book, has everything Geeks, sherpas, a Jamaican nurse wearing a shower cap, room after room of broken mirrors. Look over there – is that Mick Jagger? No! It’s a fat kid on a Slip ‘n Slide. His knees look like biscuits, and he’s ready to party.
An adorable love story. Newly graduated and transplanted Devin is now living in Las Vegas with best friend Rachel. One sight sees them at a prize fight and the contender is none other than Devin's first boyfriend. Reconnecting they begin to date and old insecurities are reexamined and revisited.
I received this as an ARC for a honest review.
I also bought it, which should tell you that I loved this book so much. I could not put it down once I started it. So if you have kids, send them somewhere for the night before you start this book. It is a wonderful read and I will defiantly be reading it again.
Zoey Long does it again! Devon Bell and Tommy Connelly were childhood sweethearts in Boston, driven apart by concerns of class and clique-- Devon was always brainy and Tommy was always a jock. But they never stopped loving each other. When Devon takes a job in Las Vegas, the last thing she expects to see is Tommy Connelly, now an up and coming boxer, but there he is. They quickly rekindle their youthful romance, but will adulthood be enough to overcome their differences and keep them together?

It's hard to find two characters sweeter and more suited for each other than Devon and Tommy. Their chemistry is fantastic, their tenderness is beautiful and their concern for each other is overwhelming. I can't wait to see what Zoey does next!
